Without coaches we have no program. And we appreciate your time and commitment, to continue to help our great program.
Help is Available
So you have no soccer experience and have never seen a game. That's ok. If you volunteer, we'll ensure that someone with experience will work with you on the fundamentals of the game and practices.
Soccer is a really simple game...Kick the ball into a net. Take a look at the IMYSA Handbook. It should help.
Remember the basics
The game is about having fun and safety. The Handbook provides basic information on the game. Have your parents and players respect the referee and the other players. No taunting, foul language by parents, players, or coaches. Also, remember that all kids must play one half of a game before any player can play more than a half. The only exception to this is where the coach needs to discipline a player for misconduct at a practice, during warm-up, or during the game.
Spirit of the Game
Only Players on your roster may play in your games
Exception: If you're short players, you may borrow from the opposing team or another team in the same or younger age bracket. Under no circumstances may an unregistered child play.
All Players must play half a game before any other child plays more than a half.
Exception: A player may be required to sit out for any disciplinary problem.
Help the Referee Enforce These Rules
If it appears as if the opposing coach is violating either of these two rules, please contact Grand County Soccer Club.
